How Your Gift Helps
Your gifts support hospice and home-health programs throughout Northern California. Thousands of people are touched by your generosity. Here is a partial listing of what charitable gifts enabled Sutter Care at Home to accomplish in 2010.
Last Year Charitable Gifts Made So Much Possible!
Patient Assistance
Over $200,000 helped us care for low-income patients throughout Northern California – including over 12,000 hours of respite care for family members caring for loved ones; assistance with funeral expenses for those who cannot afford even a simple burial for their loved ones; specialized medical equipment that enables a patient to be self-reliant; and food, utilities, and services not covered by insurance.
Bereavement Support
Over $275,000 supported the bereavement programs offered in our hospice branches. Trained and certified professionals help our patients’ children, families and close friends cope with the loss of their loved ones by encouraging them to express and understand their loss through grief support, workshops, and creative expression. These programs are open to community members at no charge.
Advanced Illness Management
Almost $12,000 supported our signature program to provide home-based palliative care for patients with advanced chronic and late-stage illness who are not ready for hospice. We are pleased to use charitable funds to insure the program is sustained, since currently there is no reimbursement structure for these services.
